SYNC UP: contemporary partnering 워크샵
강사_ 메간 도헤니 X 일리아 니쿠로프 (미국, 러시아)
메건 도헤니와 일리아 니쿠로프는 열린 신체를 바탕으로 의사소통, 미묘한 청취 기술, 동작의 반응, 장난기와 자발성 및 실시간 에너지 공유를 기반으로 듀엣의 움직임 재료들을 만드는 방식을 워크샵 참여자들과 공유한다.
메건 도헤니와 일리아 니쿠로프는 키부츠 현대무용단 “Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company(KCDC)”의 댄서로 만나 총 9시즌 동안 이스라엘 전역에서 예술 감독 Rami Be'er의 작품을 공연했으며 20개 이상의 국가를 대상으로 국제 투어를 했습니다. 두 사람 모두 이스라엘 현대 무용에 기여한 공로로 “야이르 샤피라 상”(2018년 및 2021년)을 수상했습니다.
메건과 일리아는 2015년부터 작품을 함께 만들기 시작했으고, Dance Journey 프로그램의 상주 안무가로 활동했으며, 이스라엘 무대 플랫폼의 일환으로 KCDC 본사의 작품을 제작했습니다. 2021년에는 콜라보 댄스 프로젝트 'Outrun The Bear'를 설립했습니다. 그 이후로 그들은 유럽, 이스라엘, 미국, 일본, 멕시코, 싱가포르 및 한국 전역에서 작품을 공연하도록 초대되었습니다.
2023년에는 메건이 LA댄스 프로젝트에 상주 아티스트로 재직하는 동안 신작을 공동 작업했으며 Chapman University의 게스트 아티스트로 활동했습니다. 현재 이들은 라이브 공연을 통해 전 세계 관객과 소통하고, 창작과 협업을 통해 국경을 초월한 예술적 관계를 육성하고, "SYNC UP" 탐구 워크숍을 통해 전 세계 무버들과 파트너십을 맺는 연구 방법을 공유하고 있습니다.

SYNC UP: contemporary partnering
Instructor_ Megan Doheny & Ilya Nikurov (U.S.A & RUSSIA)
In this explorative workshop, Megan Doheny & Ilya Nikurov share tools and researched approaches to creating and performing duet materials based on open physical communication, nuanced listening techniques, action/ reaction, playfulness/ spontaneity, and the sharing of energy in real time.
Megan Doheny and Ilya Nikurov met working as dancers for the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC), where they spent a total of 9 seasons performing the works of artistic director Rami Be’er throughout Israel, as well as international tours to more than 20 different countries. They were both awarded the Yair Shapira Prize for their contribution to contemporary dance in Israel (2018 & 2021).
Megan and Ilya began creating works together in 2015, and served as resident choreographers for the International Dance Journey Program in addition to creating pieces for KCDC’s main company as a part of the Alternative Stage Platform in Israel.
In 2021, they established their collaborative dance project, “Outrun The Bear”. Since then, they have been invited to perform their works throughout Europe, Israel, The United States, Japan, Mexico, Singapore and South Korea. In 2023, they collaborated on a new work during Megan’s time as an Artist in Residence at LA Dance Project, and were guest artists at Chapman University. Currently, they enjoy engaging with international audiences through live performance, nurturing artistic relationships across borders through creation and collaboration, and sharing their researched approaches to partnering with movers around the world in their “SYNC UP” explorative
